Tax Benefits of Living in Cyprus

Cyprus Non-Dom Status

Cyprus is one of Europe's most attractive destinations for entrepreneurs, investors, company owners and high-net-worth individuals thanks to its Non-Domicile (Non-Dom) tax regime. If you become a Cyprus tax resident and qualify as non-domiciled, you may benefit from significant tax advantages for up to 17 years, including:

0% tax on dividend income (Special Defence Contribution)
0% tax on most interest income (Special Defence Contribution)
No inheritance tax
No wealth tax
Access to Cyprus' extensive network of double tax treaties

Cyprus 60-Day Tax Residency Rule

One of Cyprus' most attractive features is the 60-Day Tax Residency Rule, allowing eligible individuals to become Cyprus tax residents without spending more than six months on the island.

To qualify, you generally need to:

Spend at least 60 days in Cyprus during the tax year.
Not spend more than 183 days in any other single country.
Maintain a permanent residence in Cyprus (owned or rented).
Carry on business, be employed, or hold a directorship in a Cyprus tax-resident company during the tax year.

Marios from Arena Properties was exceptional. He accompanied us on viewings. Guided us through the process and kept fully in contact throughout. He answered any questions we had and was always just a phone call away. He has a wealth of experience and we felt confident and reassured. We had a wonderful and positive experience in our property search with Arena Properties and would highly recommend them.

We had an excellent experience purchasing our apartment in Cyprus through the Arena Properties, and especially working with Marios Pittadjis.
From the very beginning, Marios was incredibly responsive and always reacted to our questions surprisingly quickly, no matter how small or complicated they were. What we appreciated most was that he helped us even in areas that were beyond his direct responsibilities, which made the whole process much smoother and far less stressful.
As non-residents of Cyprus, having someone we could truly rely on was extremely important. Throughout the entire process, we genuinely felt that our interests were being represented by a true professional who cared about achieving the best outcome for us.
We are very grateful for all the support, guidance, and assistance we received, and we would highly recommend both the agency and Marios to anyone looking to purchase property in Cyprus.

I found Stelios to be both hard working and extremely honest with his appraisals of the apartments available. Not trying to sound too cheesy, but I felt he was on my side and not the developers. I felt he genuinely wanted to help get it right for me, rather than just sell me something. I think he may also be a surveyor, as he was able to inspect other plots to check on their density and planning properties. He even did a shadow analysis on one of the flats for us. Stelios is a very honest guy.

Great service from Stelios at Arena Properties, he was honest about my property's short-comings and quick to point out the highlights. He did a great job with the listing, showing the property at its best and kept me well-informed regarding viewings and feedback. He was also very well-informed about property values and recent sales in the area which was invaluable. Thanks Stelios!

We've had an amazing experience with Arena. Emilios worked tirelessly finding us the right property and had the patience of a saint! I have already recommended him and Arena to a few of our friends and would definitely use their services again.
A big shout out to Antigoni who ensured the sale went through seamlessly and maintained communication with us throughout explaining everything so clearly.
Thankyou to Arena for all your support!

We had an excellent experience working with Arena during our property purchase and relocation to Cyprus. From the very beginning, the team was professional, transparent, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process.

A special mention goes to Polina, our real estate agent, who truly went above and beyond. She introduced us thoroughly to the different areas, helping us understand the lifestyle, practicalities, and long-term value of each option. She guided us step by step through the purchase procedures, explaining everything clearly and making what could have been a complex process feel manageable and smooth.

Beyond the property purchase, Polina also supported us with relocation logistics—from electricity and water connections to practical guidance on shops, services, and settling into daily life. She genuinely held our hands and showed us how to navigate the complexities of relocating to Cyprus.

We are deeply grateful for her timely responses, deep knowledge, determination to follow up, and grit to move things forward efficiently. Her professionalism and dedication made a real difference for us.

We highly recommend working with Arena, and especially with Polina, to anyone considering buying property or relocating to Cyprus. An outstanding experience from start to finish.

We had an amazing experience with this agency from start to finish. They were highly professional and provided excellent care throughout the entire process. Buying a house in Cyprus is not easy and involves a lot of paperwork, but we were supported every step of the way by Antigoni, who made the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Thank you, Antigoni and Stelios, for your exceptional service.

I recently had the pleasure of working with John Papatheocharous an estate agent for Arena Properties, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the very first interaction, his professionalism was evident. He took the time to understand our needs and preferences, guiding us through the entire process with expertise and patience.

What truly stood out was his integrity. He has been transparent in all communications, providing honest assessments of properties and never pushing for a sale just to close a deal. It was clear that his priority was to ensure we found a home that genuinely suited our requirements, as a first time buyer in Larnaca.

His knowledge of the local market was impressive, and provided valuable insights that helped us make informed decisions. It was refreshing to work with someone who values long-term relationships over short-term gains.

Also a big thank you to Antigoni who has guided my wife and I through the legal process.

Overall, I highly recommend this estate agent to anyone looking to buy or sell property in Cyprus. His professionalism and integrity set them apart, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Thank you for your outstanding service!

Response from the owner 12:22 24 Oct 25
