Extremely disappointing experience with Marios Pittajis
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Marios Pittajis from Arena Properties.
From the moment we informed him that we wanted to purchase the property, and while we were waiting for the holidays to finish so that we could proceed with the necessary documentation, he repeatedly contacted me almost every day asking how we were going to pay, whether we actually had the money, and whether the banks would accept our funds.
He repeatedly told me that our case would be extremely difficult and complicated and that we might not be able to complete the purchase. He also told me that he had spoken with banks regarding our situation. However, I had personally contacted the banks myself and was told that they could accept funds coming from our country subject of course to the normal compliance and source-of-funds procedures.
Instead of helping us find a solution and move the purchase forward, I felt that he was constantly focusing on possible problems and looking for reasons why the transaction might not work.
Unfortunately, his repeated concerns about whether we would be able to pay ultimately had a very serious consequence for us. We were informed that the owner decided not to proceed with selling the apartment to us, despite the fact that we had already paid €10,000 as a deposit and were waiting for the reservation agreement to be prepared so that we could sign it.
This was particularly upsetting because we had made our intention to purchase the property very clear and had already committed €10,000. Instead of feeling supported by the agent throughout the process, we felt that his constant doubts and concerns about our ability to complete the payment contributed to the owner losing confidence in the transaction.
There were also other potential buyers, which made the whole situation even more disappointing and left us with the impression that our purchase was not being given a fair opportunity to proceed.
A real estate agent should facilitate communication between the buyer, seller, lawyers and banks, and provide accurate information and practical solutions—not repeatedly create uncertainty and pressure the buyer.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend dealing with Marios Pittajis if you expect professional, supportive and solution-oriented service.

I found Stelios to be both hard working and extremely honest with his appraisals of the apartments available. Not trying to sound too cheesy, but I felt he was on my side and not the developers. I felt he genuinely wanted to help get it right for me, rather than just sell me something. I think he may also be a surveyor, as he was able to inspect other plots to check on their density and planning properties. He even did a shadow analysis on one of the flats for us. Stelios is a very honest guy.
